[Professional Blog] Business Centre Office v Traditional Office

Published on November 30, -1

Outsourcing your facilities services saves time and cost.

In the traditional model organisations planning time and implementation for office design, buildout, approvals and moving consumes large amounts of time and expense. An office manager often is dedicated for a month or longer with these tasks and the expenses add significantly to the companies bottom line. Often extra space is taken for those just in case possibilities. Reception areas, meeting rooms and kitchens are dedicated areas that are needed but may not be utilised often.

TCC Canada as a Business Centre provider with 3 locations in the Ottawa area provides everything except the computer. Upon arrival the receptionist and waiting area are furnished by TCC. The meeting rooms. Complete with furniture ,AV internet and phone are provided by TCC. The individual furnished offices or suites have internet and phone connected. The user/client pays for what they use. A fixed office permanently rented for typically a 12 month term. Additional  offices and services can be booked on a pay as you use basis.

All the infrastructure (cabling, decoration, business machines etc., etc.,) is provided. The day to day running of the office is taken care of with no lost time for maintenance and other issues. Client time is free to focus on their own business. TCC Canada provides all the help they can to the client so they achieve their goals which in turn creates a good ongoing client for TCC.

Cost examples would be a 4 person company who rents traditional space would usually lease traditional space for a 5 year term. This space would be approx 2,000 sq ft and monthly rent would be close to $10,000 per month downtown or $5 -6,000 in the suburbs. No flexibility of expansion or even more important reduction. Receptionist salary, furniture and all the build out costs and infrastructure costs are extra.

TCC Canada could provide space with a monthly costs for 4 people of $5,000 per month downtown and $3,000 in the surrounding areas. This would probably be for better space in a better building but as stated also includes all the day to day issues being removed from the Business Centre client.   This client uses the space they need and then has flexibility to up size or downsize as needed and have the backing of a full array of services.
