The Corporate Centre

[Professional Blog] Workspace

Published on May 18, 2012

That is the term now for a productive space for you to do work from. This space and the work you do from it can be varied according to your needs. This trend, where you rent a suitable space where and when needed is not totally new but is being embraced as more the norm.  For collaborating the space can be a meeting room or just a table with space for 2 to 6 people typically with the necessary tools. Screens, internet access, skype and other technology or access to it that makes the event dynamic.

The coffee shop meeting is being replaced with more purpose designed spaces. TCC Canada with three locations in the Ottawa area (and growing) is able to host any meeting and is developing drop in spaces in the near future. The idea of the drop in workspace is you will be able to have a spot to check your email and sort your day out while you are on the go, coming into an environment that promotes the “business hum”. There is nothing worse than being on your own wondering if anyone else is working.

Imagine your day full of activities rushing from meeting to meeting needing to prepare for the next or actually meet with a contact or client. If you have to pre book each quick get together and plan your day weeks ahead it becomes a nightmare. Why not keep it loose do those quick get togethers on the fly or as you want. It is much easier to meet up with people who are also busy when you can do so conveniently and on natural territory.

Individual spaces are rented by the hour with all back up business equipment and services also available. Some will enjoy this environment so much they are there almost permanently. Meeting like minded others and being helped and inspired as a group. As individuals work more independently it becomes more crucial to have the ability to meet and collaborate. Research in this area shows that 80% of workers need to do this every day.

Large Hotel groups are trying to appeal to this market as well, developing business meeting rooms and spaces. This will work at hub locations on highway intersections etc., but has always been a problem for hotel guests and business to mix. The Hotels have tried to hold meetings in the spaces less suitable for hotel rooms and have had success for the larger 100 plus type groups but business is driven mainly in business environments. The Corporate Centre – TCC Canada is all about business. You don’t mix with the family trying to unload the car and register at the hotel. You are around like minded business people many with the same types of issues as yourself. The coffee is not bad either with the individual cup brew choices!

How to set up workspace with TCC Canada?  It is like being a member of a club or a timeshare. You join and pay a low monthly fee. Then you are free to use any of the locations as your workspace. There are many more additional services to make your life easier and more productive. Call Sean at 613-566-7000 or look online at www.tcccanada.com
