The Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa Chamber of Commerce host more than 40 business events throughout the year. These events range from networking cocktails to breakfasts, learning conferences to annual galas.

The events listed below are only a sampling of the business events co-produced by the Ottawa Business Journal and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce. (Annually in February)

(Annually in February)

(Annually in May)

Forty Under 40 Logo
Forty Under 40 Awards
(Annually in June)

The Forty Under 40 awards program invites individuals under the age of 40 to be nominated for their business accomplishments, level of expertise, and community involvement.  The program is celebrated through an awards gala that recognizes 40 outstanding local business people under the age of 40.  Click here for more information on the Forty Under 40 Awards Program.
 
Golf Tournament Logo Networking Golf Tournament
(Annually in August)

This annual golf tournament attracts Ottawa's top business leaders and covers two exclusive 18-hole private courses.  This tournament is one of the largest in Ottawa, and sells out every year.  Click here for more information on the Annual Networking Golf Tournament.
 

Best Ottawa Business Awards (BOBs)
(Annually in November)

The BOBS formerly known as Ottawa Business Achievement Awards, invites organizations and individuals to be nominated to celebrate their achievements.  An awards gala showcases growing, profitable and innovative companies that demonstrate great customer service and corporate social responsibility.  Click here for more information on the Ottawa Business Achievement Awards.
 

  Plaza of Honour
(Annually in June)

This event honours the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, inducting them into the "Plaza of Honour" with a plaque on the staircase at the World Exchange Plaza amphetheatre.  A luncheon is held after the unveiling at the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel.  Click here for more information on the Plaza of Honour and to register for this event.
 

 

 

 

Cocktails & Commerce
(Annually in February/ March)

This annual Chamber of Commerce Membership appreciation event invites all members of the Chamber to "mix-and-mingle" over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.  The President of the Chamber also provides an update.
 

 

 

 

Post-Budget Breakfast
(Annually after federal budget is released)

This breakfast event takes place the morning after the Canadian federal budget is released.  Guest speakers will provide insight into the budget, and how it will affect the local economy for the year ahead.
 

 

 

 

Forecasting Ottawa's Economic Future
(Annually in October)

This luncheon event examines trends and opportunities in the city's business sector and provides insights into Ottawa's ecomomic future. City of Ottawa Mayor will also provide an update on the state of the economy.
 
 

Annual Chair's Event
(Annually in January)

This formal swearing in of the Chair and Vice-chair of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, must take place in January so the Chamber retains "Chamber of Commerce status".  The Mayor of the City of Ottawa (or a justice of the peace) must swear in both members.  (At least 25 members in good standing must attend the event.)
