Delta Ottawa City Centre
You've never experienced the Delta Ottawa City Centre like this before
Extensive renovations on track for spring finish
After six decades as an icon on the Ottawa skyline, the Delta Ottawa City Centre will soon unveil a fresh, modern look that will provide conventions and meetings with a new venue unmatched by any hotel in the downtown core.
In January 2011, Delta Hotels and Resorts assumed management of the Crowne Plaza and embarked on a multimillion-dollar renovation under the leadership of new General Manager Peter Gillis. In his previous management role with Delta Hotels and Resorts, Mr. Gillis held the “Hotel of the Year” title for four consecutive years.
The renovation will include an upgrade of guest services, amenities and facilities, including a new restaurant under the direction of Executive Chef Christopher Marz.
“We are now offering a level of product and service, and another option in the city, that organizations can be proud to use for their meeting and convention needs,” said Marilyn Power, Director of Sales and Marketing, Delta Ottawa City Centre. “No other venue in the downtown area has, under one roof, such a convenient variety of meeting space. We are not only rebranding the property, we are repositioning it in the market.”
The Delta Ottawa City Centre can accommodate groups of up to 1,000. Its 10,000-square-foot ballroom and 17 breakout meeting rooms are located only one floor apart, making it much easier to manage the logistics of a convention. All of this meeting space is part of the renovation, including new floor-to-ceiling windows in the ballroom foyer to bring in natural light. The hotel lobby is also undergoing a dramatic change with a new grand entrance on Lyon Street. Even the building’s mechanical systems are being replaced to ensure guest comfort.
Each of the hotel’s 410 guest rooms has been redesigned around the concept of allowing guests to make their room “my space.” A clean, convenient and functional design makes it easy to either relax or focus on work. Guests can even output their laptops to their room’s 42” flat-screen television or play their own music through an iPod dock.
The Delta Ottawa City Centre has already completed its new guest rooms, penthouse suites and international ballroom. Its new lobby and other public spaces will be unveiled this spring. To book your meeting or convention, visit www.deltaottawacitycentre.com or call 613-688-6847.
