The long-time local business person either co-founded or was heavily involved with Computer Innovations, Murphy Business Ottawa, SHL SystemHouse, Nabu Network and NexInnovations. Mr. Kelly was named OBJ CEO of the Year in 1998.
On top of his business career, Mr. Kelly has been actively involved in the charitable sector. His past and present commitments include United Way campaign chair, and board member of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation, the Community Foundation of Ottawa and the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
"I've been looking to align my Ottawa volunteer work with my business undertakings for some time," Mr. Kelly stated. "Comfort Keepers brings tremendous improvement to the quality of life enjoyed by many Ottawa seniors."
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Comfort Keepers was founded in 1998 and has 600 franchises. The company provides non-medical, in-home care and has been in Ottawa since 2005. Founder Shari Westman is a 2010 OBJ Forty Under 40 recipient.
