Royal Bank of Canada announced it would be giving the money to the Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work at Carleton’s Sprott School of Business on Friday, widely known as International Women’s Day.

The money will  “contribute to new research on workplace diversity to better understand the obstacles that may be keeping employees from reaching their full potential,” a university news release said.

It also wants the donation to “support a distance education program” and develop a series of talks about women in management, the release said.
