Toronto-based Smart Employee Benefits (TSX VENTURE:SEB) is acquiring Ottawa-based professional service and communications firm, Antian Professional Services Inc.
The value of the deal is estimated at $850,000. It will see SEB, which specializes in managing group benefits and healthcare claims processing, pay $450,000 in cash, with the other $400,000 coming in the form of a vendor take back, payable over a five-year period.
"Antian adds to our growing Ottawa presence. This acquisition is in line with our focus on deepening client relationships in government and healthcare,” said Adam Jasek, executive vice president of acquisitions for SEB and president of SOMOS, an Ottawa-based management consulting firm that was acquired by SEB in January, in a press release.
“Antian has a history of profitability and brings unique expertise that adds to the suite of solutions and services that enhance SEB's healthcare initiatives in both the private and government sectors."
