The federal government is getting ready to do some major work on the ventilation towers at Parliament’s Centre Block.
The government is currently evaluating bids from contractors to replace the masonry of the “exterior stone and interior brick” of the building’s two ventilation towers, according to tender documents posted on the government’s BuyandSell.gc.ca website.
The successful bidder would also have to replace a roof, restore windows and reinforce the structure.
The government estimates the total cost of the project will be over $5 million. The contract will go to the lowest bidder.
Bidding closed last week.
