Construction permit values soar in February

The value of construction permits the City of Ottawa handed out in February nearly doubled when compared with the year before, according to information released by the municipality.

There were $204 million worth of permits made available during the month, up from $105 million during February of 2013.

That was despite a drop in the number of permits. Businesses received 349 approvals for the month, down from 420 during the same period a year earlier.

Included among the permits from February were condo projects from Minto at Lansdowne Park, apartment buildings from Group Lepine in Kanata Lakes and a new apartment building from Domicile on Beechwood Avenue.
