A string of recent acquisitions continues to dramatically increase revenues for TUC Managed IT, which has been named Ottawa’s fastest-growing company for the second straight year.

Mark Scott is chief executive of TUC Managed IT.

Revenues at the managed services provider – which purchased fellow MSPs Protek, TechSupport.ca and Nitro IT in 2012 – grew 1,688.89 per cent over the past three years.

That leads a list of 10 of Ottawa’s Fastest Growing Companies named by OBJ. Two other recipients had three-year revenue growth of more than 1,000 per cent: user experience agency Soshal and user interface developer You.i.

While the annual competition is open to firms in all business sectors, tech companies dominated this year’s list of recipients:

- TUC: 1688.89%

- Soshal: 1,294.03%

- You.i: 1,154.88%

- NewFound Recruiting: 587.48%

- NetFore Systems: 477.75%

- 360pi: 344.14%

- PowerStick: 343.06%

- Shopify: 335%

- Decisive Technologies: 164.37%

- KTL Group: 99.77%

“These are the strongest results in the history of OBJ’s Fastest Growing Companies competition,” said OBJ editor Peter Kovessy, who oversaw the selection process.

“These figures illustrate the emergence of several Ottawa-based firms that are becoming leaders in their field.”

Companies were ranked on their revenue growth over the past three years. The editorial feature recognizes privately held, locally headquartered companies for sustainable and profitable revenue growth.

The companies, and the stories behind their success, will be profiled in a special edition of OBJ on May 12.

The companies will also be feted at a cocktail reception on May 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Delta Ottawa City Centre. For more information, click here.
