It is one down, one to go in the quest to merge the West Ottawa Board of Trade with the Greater Nepean Chamber of Commerce after the West Ottawa board voted overwhelmingly in support of the move Tuesday.
West Ottawa Board of Trade members voted overwhelmingly in support of merging with the Greater Nepean Chamber of Commerce
More than 70 members were represented at the vote, which was 97 per cent in favour of the merger.
Nepean chamber members are scheduled to vote June 24. The chamber’s board of directors has already voiced support for a merger.
If approved, the merger would bring the number of chambers of commerce in the city down to three.
It would be the first major amalgamation of local chambers since the Eastern Ottawa Chamber of Commerce joined with the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
