Spurred by a major acquisition and millions in new financing in 2014, Martello Technologies has soared to the No. 1 spot on OBJ’s list of Ottawa’s fastest-growing companies.
Ottawa's Fastest Growing Companies
Revenues at the performance management software company – which purchased French software maker Netvitesse and raised $3 million in venture capital last fall – grew 602.4 per cent over the past three years.
That tops a list of 10 of Ottawa’s Fastest Growing Companies named by OBJ. Two other recipients had three-year revenue growth of more than 400 per cent: online health-product dispensary HealthWave and subscription billing and management software company Fusebill.
While the annual competition is open to firms in all business sectors, tech companies once again dominated the list, with nine of the 10 recipients falling into this category:
Martello Technologies: 602.40 per cent
HealthWave: 569.55 per cent
Fusebill: 475.21 per cent
HazloLaw – Business Lawyers: 191.41 per cent
360pi: 175 per cent
Napkyn: 150.77 per cent
You.i TV: 140 per cent
NetFore Systems: 133.92 per cent
Dual Code: 131.77 per cent
SupportMyMac: 120.21 per cent
“This year’s response to Fastest Growing Companies was the most successful in the history of the competition,” said OBJ print editor David Sali, who oversaw the selection process. “We had a wide range of entries, with the top 10 showing strong overall growth that bodes well for the future of the city’s economy.”
Companies were ranked on their revenue growth over the past three fiscal years. The competition is a way to recognize privately held, locally headquartered firms for sustainable revenue growth.
The companies and the stories behind their success will be profiled in a special section of OBJ on May 11. The firms will also be celebrated at a cocktail reception on May 20 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at The Annex (Kivuto headquarters), 151 George St. For more information, click here.
