Approximately 36 per cent of Ottawa residents say they support Mr. Watson, compared to 17 per cent for Mr. O’Brien.
A Holinshed Research Group poll found former regional chairman Andy Haydon has eight per cent support, while current city councillor Clive Doucet has the support of six per cent of local residents.
Thirty per cent remain undecided.
The survey polled 396 residents and is considered accurate within +/- 4.92 per cent, 19 times out of 20. The findings were broadcast Monday morning on a local talk radio station.
The Holinshed survey also found voters were in the mood for change. Sixty-four per cent said it was time to elect a new mayor.
Voters head to the polls on Oct. 25.
