The $3.15-million contract is expected to run for at least three years, with an option to extend the work for two additional one-year periods.
In a solicitation notice published on procurement site Merx, DND stated the work was required for militarized construction engineering equipment.
Equipement Gatineau will be required to repair and maintain the equipment and provide a field service representative and technical support for inspection and maintenance.
DND will make the equipment available for service at the contractor's facilities in Gatineau.
Industry Canada records indicate Mario Loiseau, president of Equipement Gatineau, is also president of manufacturer Machineries Eastview Enr. Both companies operate out of the same building in Gatineau, on rue Adrien-Robert.
Equipement Gatineau was founded in 2009, according to its profile on Industry Canada's Corporations Canada directory. Machineries Eastview, in a separate company directory organized by industrial sector, states it was established in 1953, has yearly sales of between $1 million and $5 million, and employs 15 people.
