The National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA has appointed Deirdre Speers as president and CEO. Ms. Speers brings more than 20 years' experience in the not-for-profit and municipal sectors, specializing in social services, child care, recreation and community development.
Kinaxis has promoted four company veterans to vice-president positions. Rob Bell assumes the role of vice-president for support and IT. Trevor Miles was appointed vice-president of thought leadership. Kirsten Watson was named vice-president of corporate marketing. Kerry Zuber was promoted to vice-president of business consulting.
Phil Murphy has joined Keller Williams Ottawa Realty as a sales representative. Mr. Murphy was formerly director of business development at AMJ Campbell and a corporate account manager for the Ottawa Senators.

Optelian has been named Outstanding Information and Communications Technology company by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Ottawa section. Optelian received the award during the organization's recent AGM and banquet.
The Lowe-Martin Group has received the gold award for Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada at the Canadian Printing Awards. The company was also named Best in Show.
Soshal Group founder Dave Hale has been nominated as one of Canada's top 20 entrepreneurs in PROFIT Magazine's first annual FuEL Awards.
Titus's Security Suite for SharePoint has been named a silver medal winner in the category of Best SharePoint Product in the 2011 Editors' Best Awards from Penton Media's Windows IT Pro magazine.
