Jason Trottier, Hans Downer and Rosemary Chapdelaine among Ottawa businesspeople accepting new positions.

PEOPLE ON THE MOVE

Jason Trottier and Patrick Quirouette have joined The National Hotel and Suites Ottawa. Mr. Trottier comes on as general manager and was most recently with URGO Hotels Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, NY. Mr. Quirouette, most recently the general manager of the Radisson Ottawa Parliament Hill, becomes director of sales and marketing.

Roger Egan has joined Tallysman Wireless as director of sales for RF and antenna products. Mr. Tallysman has more than 25 years’ experience in sales and channel management capacities.

Hans Downer has joined ActivDox as president and CEO. Mr. Downer has more than 20 years of executive management experience with Nortel, Entrust, Mxi Technologies and March Networks.

Rosemary J. Chapdelaine has been named president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Canada. Ms. Chapdelaine most recently served as director of business development for Lockheed Martin’s Mission Systems & Sensors business in Owego, N.Y.

Harris Utilities SmartWorks has appointed Chris Lewis as vice-president of business development.

 

HATS OFF

Banfield-Seguin received 14 awards at the Eighth Annual Davey Awards. The firm brought home one gold Davey trophy for its Aireon Corporate Vision video and 13 silver trophies for various video and creative projects.

Blushes Salon won in two categories at Contessa, the Canadian hairstylist of the year awards. Blushes Salon owners Silas and Dorothy Tsang won the Canadian salon team category, while Melissa Blom took home the Canadian Newcomer Award.

Three local companies were recognized at the first Ottawa Entrepreneurship Awards. Le Regroupement des gens d’affaires de la Capitale nationale won as Entrepreneurship Support Organization of the Year. Cheryl Draper of Startup Grind and Shopify’s Harley Finkelstein tied for the Entrepreneurship Community Builder Award.
