Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada has appointed Michelle McLean as vice-president and group leader of Ottawa’s communications unit. She returns to the firm after almost three years as vice-president of public affairs at the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Pivotal Projects has appointed Justin Poitras-George as business manager for the National Capital and Quebec regions. Mr. Poitras-George joins the firm from Turner & Townsend, where he was responsible for its Ottawa office.
HATS OFF
N-able Technologies’ senior vice-president of sales, Mike Cullen, has been named one of UBM Tech Channel’s CRN 2013 Channel Chiefs for the seventh consecutive year. The award recognizes his IT channel leadership and dedication to managed service providers across North America.
The Minto Group was named both the 2012 Leader of the Year and Ontario Green Builder of the Year for the second year in a row at EnerQuality’s annual Awards of Excellence.
Tony Bailetti of Carleton University will receive the International Talent Acquisition Centre award in the group category as the head of Lead to Win. The award recognizes outstanding achievement by an In-TAC employer partner that has hired the largest number of newcomers to the centre in the past year.
Canada’s Best Managed Companies has announced four local winners of its annual awards. Eagle Professional and altis.excelHR have achieved Platinum Club member status by retaining their Best Managed designation for six years or more. Manderley Turf Products was requalified for 2012. MDS Aero is new to the list this year.
MDS Aero was also named Carleton University’s Co-operative Education Employer of the Year.
Shawn Hickey, president of SiteCast Construction, has been named by Concrete Construction magazine as one of the five most influential people in the concrete industry. Mr. Hickey was recognized for leading educational and promotional efforts for tilt-up concrete both in North America and internationally.
