QNX, DragonWave and Farm Boy are among the local companies announcing new agreements.
Ottawa-based clean technology company BluMetric Environmental has won two new contracts worth over $2.5 million, the company announced on Monday. The yearlong deals will see BluMetric conduct testing for water contamination and provide other environmental engineering services at mining sites in Northern Ontario. A company press release did not say who the deals were with.
QNX Software Systems, an Ottawa-based subsidiary of BlackBerry, has formed a new partnership with Massachusetts-based Klocwork. The agreement will see Klocwork’s software analysis tool integrated into QNX’s Automotive Safety Program for ISO 26262 ecosystem, a network of companies that offer complementary products. With the integration, developers writing code for QNX systems will be able to use the Klockwork tool to ensure their software doesn’t conflict in real time with ISO 26262, a safety standard for cars.
DragonWave, an Ottawa-based supplier of packet microwave radio systems, will provide backhaul capability to the largest wireless broadband network in Kuwait. The deal will see Kuwait’s MADA Communications Company deploy two DragonWave systems as part of a network upgrade.
Local grocery chain Farm Boy is partnering with the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend to provide food to race finishers. The event, scheduled for May 24 and 25, consists of six races, one of which is a marathon. Organizers expect it to draw around 48,000 participants.
