Nelligan O’Brien Payne has added Rohan Bansie, Kristen Bailey and Lauren Rakowski to its legal team. In addition, Marta Siemiarczuk, Craig O’Brien and Merredith MacLennan have been made partners of the firm.
United Technologies Corp. has promoted Richard Bertrand, currently vice-president of government relations for Pratt & Whitney Canada. His responsibilities will be expanded to include all United Technologies divisions operating in Canada.
Che Chartrand has been appointed as the executive chef of the Wakefield Mill Hotel & Spa. Mr. Chartrand brings more than 20 years’ experience in fine and contemporary restaurants to his role, including as opening chef de cuisine at gezellig.
Ackroo Inc. has appointed Jay Malowney to its board of directors. Mr. Malowney is the senior vice-president of partner relationships at Points, and he has extensive experience in the loyalty marketing industry coupled with the venture capital space.
Jeffrey Beedell has joined Gowlings’ Ottawa office as a partner. Mr. Beedell previously headed the Supreme Court advocacy practice of another large Canadian firm.
Patricia Verge, a broker with Royal LePage Team Realty, has been elected as the new president of the Ontario Real Estate Association. Ms. Verge will represent the association’s members on the board of directors and the senior level executive committee.
Mike Cullen, vice-president of worldwide sales and business strategy at N-able by SolarWinds, has been named a CRN 2014 Channel Chief. This marks the eighth year in a row that Mr. Cullen has earned the Channel Chiefs distinction.
