Don Gibbs has been appointed chief financial officer of Tweed Marijuana Inc. Mr. Gibbs was most recently president and CEO of AirIQ and was previously CFO of Mitel and Cognos. He replaces outgoing CFO Gerald Leahy.
Stratford Managers has appointed three new senior consultants. Martin Comber is the firm’s new vice-president of sales while Kathryn Yeung and Janet LeClair have joined as senior human resources consultants.
Nordstrom has appointed John Banks as manager of its Rideau Centre store. Mr. Banks began his career with Nordstrom in 1999 in California.
Alliance Engineering has appointed Karine Genier as financial controller. Ms. Genier was previously auditor and acting manager of accounting firm Marcil Lavallée. Additionally, Aaron Graham has joined the firm as senior project manager after spending 12 years managing the piping, plumbing and HVAC divisions at a local mechanical contracting firm.
Christopher Spiteri has been named chair of Tarion Warranty Corp., becoming the first Ottawa-based individual to lead the organization since 1988. Separately, local realtor Bob Fraser has joined Tarion’s Consumer Advisory Council.
Investors Group was recognized as Organization of the Year at the Kanata North Community Recognition Awards Ceremony. The award recognizes the company’s social responsibility and community service.
Carleton University’s Lead to Win program has been awarded In-TAC’s Capacity Builder Award. The Lead to Win program’s goal is to establish and grow businesses in the National Capital Region.
