Supercuts enters Ottawa market

Hair salon Supercuts opened its first Ottawa location in the west end on Thursday.

The store at 1357 Baseline Rd., near Clyde Avenue, will be the first of five locations in the city that will open by 2012, Supercuts stated.

"We are very pleased to open in Ottawa; we have had great support from our neighbors as well as clients who have been waiting for Supercuts to open in this area," stated Phil Weaver, the salon's franchisee and also an Ottawa resident.

The company, a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based hair salon franchiser and trainer Regis Corp., has 2,100 locations in North America.

Regis already operates other brands in the Ottawa area, including First Choice Haircutters and Regis Salon.
