The popular Swedish clothing retailer has announced plans to open its first store in Ottawa at noon on Oct. 17.
The 22,120 square foot location at Bayshore Shopping Centre location will offer clothes and accessories for men, women, teenagers and children.
The retailer, known for its stylish products and reasonable prices, has been in high demand. Bayshore’s general manager Denis Pelletier told OBJ in April that the chain was the most requested store by mall shoppers.
H&M has been eying the Ottawa market for nine years, but struggled to find a suitable location.
“We are thrilled to finally open H&M in Ottawa and to continue our expansion in the Canadian market,” said Toni Galli, country manager of H&M Canada, in a press release. “We have been waiting for a great location in Ottawa and are very happy to finally be opening at Bayshore Shopping Centre.”
H&M, formally known as Hennes & Mauritz AB, is one of the largest clothing retailers in the world, with stores in over 18 countries. The Ottawa location will be the 64th store in Canada.
