The Hudson’s Bay Company has reopened a Zellers store in Ottawa.

The Bells Corner location was closed along with the majority of other Zellers stores in 2012, but unlike other locations – many of which had the leases sold to Target when the American company prepared an expansion into Canada a few years ago – this one remained empty.

According to posts on social networking site Twitter, there were long lines at the reopened store, which features heavily discounted items from HBC’s department stores and Home Outfitters.

HBC currently operates two other discount stores under the Zellers brand. One is in Toronto and another is near Vancouver.

E-mails OBJ sent to the Hudson's Bay Company requesting comment were not returned.

Organizations: Zellers, Hudson's Bay Company, Home Outfitters

I am very glad that Zellers is reopening its doors again. I wonder how many Canadians love to have Zellers back. Target the price in Canada is pretty steep compared to States
