High-end clothing retailer Nordstrom has finalized the opening plans for its Rideau Centre location.
John Banks is the manager of Nordstrom at the Rideau Centre.
The store, which will be the Seattle-based retailer’s second location in Canada, is scheduled to open March 6, 2015.
The company’s first Canadian store is scheduled to open in September in Calgary.
Nordstrom says it has appointed John Banks, a long-time employee, to run the store.
Mr. Banks was most recently the company’s director of human resources for its stores in the southeast United States and has managed some of its largest locations, according to a company press release.
The company says it plans to start hiring for other management positions in August. The 157,000-square foot location is expected to have a staff of 400 people, the company said.
“We’re new to Canada and we’re going to focus on doing things the right way for Canadians,” said Mr. Banks in a statement.
“That means we’ll work hard to see our business through the eyes of our local customers so that we can provide a relevant and meaningful shopping experience.”
