Two months to the day before the grand opening of the Richcraft Sensplex, the company that will run the facility has announced three tenants.
Capital Sports Management Inc., which already operates the Bell Sensplex in Kanata and the Cavanagh Sensplex in Carp, has inked deals with three local groups.
Hockey Eastern Ontario, Lightning Blade Sports and Pro Physio and Sport Medicine Centres will occupy retail and office space at the four-pad, east-end facility opening Aug. 5 on Shefford Road.
Another agreement is expected shortly with a fourth tenant.
“We are extremely excited to partner with these local groups and businesses to offer the people in the east end of the city a full-service hockey experience,” Ottawa Senators vice-president of strategic development Geoff Publow said in a statement.
Hockey Eastern Ontario is the governing body of amateur hockey in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, supplying training, promoting development and enforcing rules as adopted by Hockey Canada.
Lightning Blade Sports already has a location at the Bell Sensplex. In addition to skate sharpening and repair, it will offer custom team apparel and other hockey and ringette accessories.
The Richcraft Sensplex will be the 24th Pro Physio and Sport Medicine Centre in the National Capital Region.
Meanwhile, the Sensplex will be holding a jobs fair at the Chimo Hotel on Friday, June 20 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Part-time staff are wanted in building operations, food and beverage, guest services and programming.
