The airport took the prize, along with partner Air Canada, in the Tourism Partnership of the Year category for their promotion of the much-publicized direct flight from Ottawa to Frankfurt. UrbanQuest.com, a company that offers local mystery trips involving riddles and puzzles, took the prize in the New Company of the Year category.
The 2010 Ottawa Tourism Awards were presented in front of a packed house of over 200 industry leaders.
The 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship took home the prize for Event of the Year, while John Cosentino, general manager of Albert at Bay Suite Hotel and Best Western Victoria Park Suite, was awarded Tourism Volunteer of the Year.
Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association executive director Dick Brown was named Tourism Leader of the Year.
