One of Ottawa’s landmark hotels is under new ownership, but the new buyer said there won’t be too many changes to the attraction located close to the Parliament Buildings.

Capital Hotel Limited Partnership, an affiliate of West Vancouver-based Larco Investments, purchased the Fairmont Chateau Laurier last Friday.
The hotel will remain under the management of Fairmont, said Thaddas Alston, vice president of Larco.
“There’s no change in the day-to-day operations, there’s no ‘taking over’ so to speak,” said Mr. Alston.
He declined to disclose the purchase price.
The company isn’t planning any major changes over the long term, he said. For example it will still proceed with previously announced renovation plans.
“This has been one of the leaders in the hotel market in Ottawa historically, and people can expect that to continue to be the case,” he said.
Quebec-based Ivanhoe Cambridge previously owned the hotel.
