The designer and manufacturer of fibre-optic measuring and monitoring instruments for telecommunications companies is showing no visible signs of following the lead of many of the big players by announcing stagnant growth and lower-than-expected results.
JDS Uniphase Corp., Lucent Technologies Inc. and Nortel Networks Corp. are among Exfo's largest customers, but their recent announcements have not prompted the same approach by the Vanier, Que., company.
"Some sectors might be more impacted than others," said Germain Lamond, Exfo chairman and chief executive officer. "I believe we're among the best positioned companies in [the] fibre-optic testing industry," the Globe and Mail reports.
Exfo reports second-quarter results on March 19. The company went public last year with 950 employees and has had a recent growth spurt over the fall.
