I2, whose Canadian headquarters are in Ottawa, said it's combining its visual investigative analysis software solution with ELSAG's Mobile Plate Hunter 900 automatic licence plate reader technology, which is used in all 50 U.S. states.
"We believe ELSAG's system holds data that can be critical to an investigation and will add valuable capability to our powerful intelligence-led operations platform launched earlier this year," said Guillaume Tissot, i2's vice-president of product marketing.
ELSAG's portion of the partnership includes MPH-900 solution, which reads up to 1,800 licence plates per minute, as well as its back-office command centre capabilities, while i2 will offer real-time geographical profiling, convoy analysis and target vehicle identification for law enforcement agents.
