Construction permits up 13% in October

The value of local construction permits increased more than 13 per cent, or $19.4 million, year-over-year in October, according to municipal records.

The city issued 785 permits with a combined value of $168.27 million, compared to 686 permits with a total value of $148.84 million a year earlier.

A permit to construct an institutional residential building for St. Patrick's Home bolstered monthly permits by nearly $40 million. Other prominent contracts included a City of Ottawa pool on Portobello Boulevard and a six-storey residential building on Centrum Boulevard.
