The city’s planning committee is set to consider next week an application to change the zoning at the site, located just to the west of Bank Street between Second and Third avenues, to make way for the structure.

The plan is to build a parking garage that will have 149 short-term vehicle parking spaces and 35 bicycle parking spaces, according to a staff report to councillors on the matter.

The structure will have a total floor area of just under 19,000 square feet.

The total cost of the project is going to be $9.5 million, according to a response forwarded by City of Ottawa media relations officials.

The site is currently home to a 60-space surface parking lot.
