The Ottawa-based developer is targeting a 22-storey tower and a 24-storey tower on a 0.76-hectare piece of land at 19 Centrepointe Dr., according to a planning rationale submitted to the city.
The site is just southwest of Baseline Road and Woodroffe Avenue. It is a few hundred metres west of Baseline Station and the Transitway, as well as College Square, a shopping plaza.
Other nearby buildings include a four-storey medical centre, the two-storey Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School, and several rows of two- and three-storey townhouses.
FoTenn Consultants, which wrote the rationale, added that the complex falls within the parameters of the Baseline and Woodroffe Secondary Plan.
The plan states the area "is intended to function as a focal point for business and activity, accommodating a large amount of employment and related development with good access to transit."
The Centrepointe towers, FoTenn wrote, will "provide opportunities for high-density residential development" and "create a compact, pedestrian oriented heart for the wider area (that) fosters community and human interaction."
Richcraft already has a number of other condos built or developed in Ottawa, including the 14-storey Galleria 2 on Besserer Street downtown and Jade Condo Flats in Barrhaven.
A comment period for the development is currently in progress. Roderick Lahey Architect Inc. is designing the complex.
