The index, which tracks changes in the prices of single-family homes, was up 1.1 per cent when compared to December 2012. When compared to November, however, the index decreased 0.3 per cent.

Ottawa was below the average month-over-month and year-over-year increases for the 11 cities the index measures.

Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto had the largest percentage increases when compared to December of last year. Victoria was the only city to see a year-over-year price decrease.
