Wellspring Ottawa-Maplesoft Centre groundbreaking
Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation broke ground on June 10 for its new Wellspring Ottawa Cancer Survivorship Centre. Built beside the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Survivors Park on Alta Vista Road, the centre will resemble a house and provide free-of-charge resources to cancer patients through counselling, educational resources and training for cancer patients. Thanks to a $1.8-million donation from a local technology company, the facility will be named the Wellspring Ottawa-Maplesoft Centre. "Wellspring Ottawa is a service that our community absolutely needs," said Jody Campeau, president and CEO of Maplesoft Group. "We at Maplesoft Group are proud of the impact it will have for local cancer patients and their families." The federal and provincial governments also invested a total of $1.7 million in the project.
