The recipient companies of the Employees' Choice Awards were feted at a breakfast on Oct. 22. The companies were judged by their own employees and a panel of HR experts as being the best employers in Ottawa. The 10 recipient companies were bitHeads, Brookstreet Hotel, Chipworks Inc., Classic Care Pharmacy, Collins Barrow Ottawa LLP, Ernst & Young LLP, Holiday Inn Select Hotel & Suites Kanata, McMillan, Medical Council of Canada, and Protus. "What makes these awards so unique is we're measuring the level of satisfaction and engagement of local employers from the perspective of their staff," said Ottawa Business Journal publisher Michael Curran. "Really, what better measurement is there?" Company employees were surveyed extensively by TalentMap on various aspects of their employment, including work/life balance or whether they were engaged in meaningful work.
