The Utility Company said it will provide services for the management of the real estate firm’s network, desktop and security infrastructure, as well as pay-as-you-go remote helpdesk support.
The service – which will also cover Metcalfe’s sister firm, the Fuller Construction Group of Companies – includes a monthly “virtual chief information officer meeting” where The Utility Company will analyze and discuss all aspects of its customer’s IT.
“Metcalfe Realty and the Fuller Group represent a cornerstone customer for The Utility Company as we move more into the mid-market,” said The Utility Company president Mark Scott in a statement. “We went through a detailed request for proposal and competitive bid process along with an extensive due diligence by their finance and operations team.”
It’s a significant win for The Utility Company as Metcalfe Realty manages a number of major commercial real estate buildings throughout Ottawa, including the Varette Building at 130 Albert St., the Fuller Building at 75 Albert St., the building at 1385 Bank St. that houses the Kilborn Medical Centre, and the Beacon Hill Shopping Centre.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
