Ottawa-based BTI – whose packet optical networking technology allows customers to make the transition between Ethernet, optical and wireless networks on one platform – said Cameron Communications has chosen its BTI 7000 Series technology to help boost the bandwidth and fibre infrastructure of its network in parts of Texas and Louisiana.
“There is an accelerating trend to bring fibre-based services to rural and underserved communities,” said Aleck Gilner, BTI’s vice-president of U.S. sales. “BTI Systems provides the backbone for service providers like Cameron Communications to build a future-focused network today, bringing speed and performance to customers.”
The expanded network will provide the region’s residents, schools, libraries, municipalities and businesses with advanced broadband, video-on-demand and Internet protocol-based television services, the companies said.
