CAE Professional Services has won a $22.6 million contract from the federal government for weapon-systems related engineering and technical services, according to procurement records.

The solicitation called for "simulation software goods and services for various equipment" as well as services such as option analysis, testing and evaluation, and operational and maintenance training.

The contract will be for three years plus two one-year option periods.

On Wednesday, Montreal-based CAE disclosed it is shedding four per cent or 300 employees of its workforce worldwide, but did not disclose the locations of the affected workforce.

CAE has approximately 325 people in the national capital, according to Ottawa Technology magazine.
