IDC plans to expand its geographic reach, which it is starting in Asia, introducing new products, and undertaking a restructuring "in light of our new market/product strategy and the current economic circumstances."
Quarterly product revenues declined 40 per cent year-over-year to $3.1 million while the company's systems segment saw a 104 per cent increase to $6.6 million.
The goal is "sustainable profitability" for the products group, with fiscal 2013 being "a year of transition for IDC as the company works at realigning its cost structure and executing on a new market and product strategy," the firm stated.
The Ottawa-based digital content distributor for broadcasters also reported consolidated revenue of $9.7 million in its first quarter of fiscal 2013, up 16 per cent from $8.4 million last year.
Its loss before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was $63,350 compared with $243,494 last year.
