The Ottawa-based data traffic manager saw its bookings grow more than 30 per cent year-over-year in its second fiscal quarter of 2012, with revenues increasing more than 25 per cent during the same period.
BTI Systems says this marks its sixth straight quarter of growth. As a privately held company, BTI Systems does not disclose its financial data.
Providing Internet, fibre and hosting services, the company equips service providers to build out bandwidth networks.
“There is definitely market momentum in the space we play in,” said Sally Bament, BTI Systems’ senior vice-president of global marketing. “We can all relate to this demand in terms of what we do in our business and personal lives, and how much we depend on connectivity.”
The company plans to grow its global head count by eight per cent, adding an undisclosed number of engineers to its Ottawa headquarters, as well as to its new Boston, Mass. location and offices around the world.
Currently, 160 employees work out of its Kanata facility.
Last December, the company announced two international deals in as many days – one in Cambodia to give caching technology to S.I. Net, and the other with Singapore’s Epsilon Telecommunications.
BTI Systems is also continuing its reseller partnership with Ottawa-based DragonWave Inc. (TSX:DWI) that was announced last June. The Fusion product on which the partnership is centred was developed by Axerra Networks which was acquired by DragonWave in 2010.
