Stantec Consulting Ltd. has won a federal deal for as-needed environmental services for up to $4.5 million. Services the Ottawa firm may be asked to perform would be related to cleaning up federally controlled contaminated areas, such as abandoned dump sites or communities in the north. The type of contract was not specified; Stantec is one of five companies across the company on the list to do this work.
C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. (TSX-V:CMI) is working with Argentinian integrator Telespazio Argentina S.A. for undisclosed terms to open a service centre in Buenos Aires. The centre will "provide local maintenance and support for the C-COM manufactured iNetVu mobile antennas to Argentine customers," C-COM stated.
DNA Genotek Inc. and biological sample collection producer BioServe Biotechnologies will provide DNA kits and extraction services for a study led by Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Contractual terms were not released. The project is looking into the genetic and environmental causes of, and ways to prevent, cleft lip and palate anomalies. DNA Genotek was acquired by Orasure Technologies last year.
March Networks has donated software and an undisclosed number of high-definition IP cameras to the Ottawa Food Bank. The charitable organization, which has had a truck stolen from a lot and gas siphoned from trucks, says the security system is an "integral" part of its newly expanded 21,000-square-foot warehouse facility.
