The satellite communications firm is expected to provide three mobile, certified Wideband Global Satcom terminals in the coming months.
One terminal was to be delivered no later than Aug. 31, and the other two no later than Oct. 31.
Deliveries include documentation, optional training, spare parts (with the option of installing them) and unspecified radio frequency measurement tools.
WGS is a United States Air Force constellation of four military satellites that offers communications in microwave frequencies. Canada is one of several nations with access to the network for defence purposes.
Contract information published on procurement site Merx did not specify whether the deal is a standing offer, supply arrangement or other procurement type.
One of Telesat’s co-owners, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, recently gave notice that it was exercising its option to force the Ottawa-based satellite firm to conduct an initial public offering.
