QNX Software Systems Ltd.’s most recent technology will soon be featured in Delphi Automotive vehicles to connect mobile devices to in-vehicle infotainment systems. Delphi has worked with QNX for more than a decade, and will upgrade to the local firm’s CAR Application Platform 2.0, a pre-integrated software stack to help automotive companies reduce the time and effort in building advanced infotainment systems for the connected car. The technology was showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
NWI Telecom is the latest company to use Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc.’s next generation Wi-Fi3 access points to provide residential and business customers with broadband Internet services over Wi-Fi. The technology will be used to provide service to NWI’s customers in Brasilia, Brazil.
Former Granite Networks CEO James Mackenzie is now providing the company with software and services from his new firm, Nomad.Works. The local app development firm will provide Granite Networks with services including software integration and data migration to provide a technology application roadmap for the Ottawa-based technology infrastructure company.
Massachusetts-based utility Braintree Electric Light Department has chosen Harris Utilities’ meter data management and customer engagement solutions to encourage its customers to participate in energy conservation programs. BELD will use the local company’s MeterSense and CustomerConnect tools to transform raw smart meter data into business intelligence, and help customers access and interpret their consumption patterns.
