The U.S. company, which is based in the Washington D.C. area, says it can now provide a solution that includes satellite-based tracking devices enabling anything from flight-following to flight data monitoring solutions.
Knowmadics, a tracking solution and crowd-sourced applications provider, said it predicts increased sales and margins for 2014 in the wake of the deal.
Terms of the deal, including purchase price, were not released.
“The Guardian asset acquisition also reaffirms our commitment to build out engineering capability in Canada, gives us an established hardware product line and builds on
Knowmadics’ capability to deliver turn‐key service offerings focused on telematics and data analytics,” Knowmadics president Claire Ostrum said in a statement.
Guardian also predicts this deal will be good for its bottom line in 2014.
“We are pleased to join the Knowmadics team and welcome their commitment to continue our operations in Ottawa, especially their dedication to maintain and enhance the level of customer support that Guardian customers have become accustomed to,” company COO Stephane Momy said in a release.
