Brookfield Johnson Controls said it has landed a contract with Public Works to manage more than five million square feet of government space at Tunney’s Pasture and the former Nortel Campus, now known as Carling Place.
The initial four-year deal is valued at approximately $338 million, BJC said in a statement published Tuesday afternoon. BJC says the contract could be extended and span up to 12 years.
The federal government purchased the Nortel Campus in 2010 for $208 million with the intent of consolidating the Department of National Defence. However, those efforts appear to have stalled.
